A Prophetic MessageDownload this Sermon Prophetic Message by brother Ronny Cham
preached at the Bahasa Malaysia Service at 8.00 am on
8th June 2008.
Scripture:
Judges 7:2-3
“And the LORD said to Gideon,
"The people who are with you are too many for Me
to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel
claim glory for itself against Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.' (NKJV)
Last
night, I was so touched in my heart when I saw the dedication, commitment and
sacrifice each one of you have given to the Lord in making the Festival of
Praise II, 2008 a resounding success in the midst of a thick air of negativism
& jealousy. You have given your
hearts, your souls and your might in service to our God, in one voice, lifting
up of our Lord’s name, the name of Jesus, in high praises. As the music and the singing continued
to rise, the spiritual atmosphere was lifted up. The people sang, danced, jumped and
shouted praises to the Lord. There was such liberty, there was such freedom in
the Spirit and I felt the Victory of Jesus pushing back the forces of the
enemy. And the Lord impressed upon
my heart the story of Gideon’s victory over the Midianites
and the Lord said to me, “there is
my Gideon, there are the 300”.
The story
of Gideon began at a time when the people of Israel were suffering under the hands
of the Midianites. God spoke to Gideon and asked him to go
and save Israel from the hands of the Midianites. Of course the young Gideon was perplexed
and in doubt as to how he could save Israel from the mighty hands of the Midianites. God
assured him that He would defeat the Midianites. Gideon tested God and by signs and miracles,
He proved Himself to him that it was Him who said Gideon would save Israel.
So,
Gideon and his men, about 32,000 of them took their position to war against the
Midianites.
But God said to Gideon, “the
people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites
into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘my
own hand has saved me’”.
God
said to Gideon, send those who are fearful and afraid, let them go home. 22,000 of them returned. 10,000 left behind and God said to
Gideon that even that 10,000 were too many. So, God told Gideon to bring them all
down to the water and He wanted to test each of them. He told Gideon to pick only those who
lapped water with their tongues like dogs and only those would be
selected. Only 300 were selected
for battle against the Midianites. The rest were sent home.
It marveled
me that even in the days of Gideon, battle was
launched in the night. Their
warfare was extraordinary too. Gideon
put a trumpet into every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and torches
inside the pitchers. There were no swords, there were no weapons at all. In the middle of the night, the 300 of
them came on every side of the camp where the Midianites
camped, and together they broke the pitchers, every one of them with one hand
holding up the torches and the trumpets in their other hands and in one breath,
they blew and they shouted “The
sword of the Lord and of Gideon!”
There
was such confusion in the enemy camp in the middle of the night in
darkness. The Midianites
probably arose from their sleep, in total darkness, thinking that the enemies
were already in the camp. In utter
confusion, we read in Judges 7:22, that “When the three hundred blew the trumpets, the LORD set every man's
sword against his companion throughout the whole camp”. The enemy was
destroyed without the 300 men having to lift a sword. Gideon and the 300 men
knew, the Victory belonged to God and to God and God alone belonged
the Glory. So Gideon defeated the Midianites and Israel had peace for 40 years.
Brothers
and sisters in Christ, I perceived that this is a prophetic message to this
congregation. Last night, I saw Ps
Bios as Gideon. I saw the whole
group of you on stage as if you were those 300 men of Gideon. I know what you have done, I have seen
your dedication in training, I have prayed with you and I know your heart
beat. Ps Bios has declared that we
want to reach out to and save the young and youthful generation through music
and songs of praise.
There
is no physical war for us to fight today.
But, I see the enemy as if it was like the might of the Midianites and I see the young and youthful generation
suffering within the forces of darkness in this decaying world. I see the heart of Ps Bios, and I see
your hearts. I can literally feel
the unity of your spirit in saving the young and youthful generation. I have heard your cry for the lost young
and youthful generation.
No
doubt, every church we know wants to do that the world over. Churches even want to join hands
together, plan and strategize interchurch mega projects to reach out to these
young and youthful generation. But
what God is showing me is that, no, He will not let anyone of us say, “My
own hand has saved them”. No,
He will not allow us to claim His Glory for ourselves against Him.
God
said to me last night, “there is my Gideon, there are my 300”. Ps Bios, I believe the Lord God is
saying to you, “you are My Gidoen. Your men and women with you are the 300.” These are the ones who have demonstrated
their one-heartedness with you, ready to go with you in one spirit, in one
voice for one purpose.
The
number is small, so what! God is leading
you to war against the enemies that have enticed and ensnared the young and
youthful generation, not through some mighty army or might weapons, but in an
extraordinary spiritual warfare through your high praises in songs and music,
with shout of victory of Christ and the cry of the proclamation of the Kingdom
of our Lord Jesus and you shall see the walls crumpling down. That when His Name is lifted up in high
praises in songs and music, He will draw all men and women unto Himself, that every
knee shall bow before Him and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord.
May
the Lord seal this prophetic word in your hearts my beloved brothers and
sisters.
