Brother Lawrence Law preached the Word of God on Sunday, 27th March 2011 and encouraged us to heed the Word of the Lord to shine before men with our good works.
“In Matthew 5:14, the Lord Jesus said we are the light of the world. Light shines in the dark so that we can see in the dark. Like torchlight, it does not shine because there is no battery. When it does not shine, the torchlight is good for nothing. So, Christ gave us His Word and His Word is the light that illuminates into the hearts of men. As we share the Word of God to the people in the world, the Word of God will cause them to see and be saved. ” said Lawrence.
Our brother also shared that God has designed it in such a way that once we have His Light in us, He will put us in places that illuminates to give others an opportunity to see and be changed. He will put us in places that can influence others who live in darkness. He suggested that we must go beyond the boundary of Church life into the world and to be of relevance to the people in the world of darkness.
“We must live for Jesus and there is no excuse for not ministering to the people who needs the light of Christ. In what way can we shine for Jesus? I encourage you to be involved in our Church’s Home Group ministry, this is an opportunity for you to bring friends who do not know Jesus to Home Group meetings and in this simple way, you can shine for Jesus. Your contribution in ministering in the Home Group are creating opportunity for those who do not know Jesus to see the light of Christ, through your good works in the simple way through the Home Group, they may believe Jesus and be changed,” advised Lawrence.
Lawrence also reminded us that in 2 Corinthians 5:15 that because He had died for us, we no longer live for ourselves but for the Lord. In our daily life, wherever we are and whoever we meet, make connection and speak the Word of Wisdom, declare the Word of knowledge into their lives and let the light of Christ shines brightly through us!
He testified, “for some years, my wife and I have been ministering to some China Students studying in University Malaysia Sabah. I do not know Mandarin well and I share no common interest with them but I promised the Lord that I want them to hear the Gospel at least once before they go home to China. Praise the Lord, through the Home Group ministry, we were able to sow precious seeds into their lives and we are praying that these seeds sown, the Lord will grow them.”
Praise the Lord, our Sister Candy, who is one of these Chinese students, was baptised in our church and is serving the Lord in the midst of us.
SIB METRO CHURCH 3RD ANNIVERSARY – 3RD APRIL 2011
SIBMetro celebrates its 3rd Anniversary on this Sunday, 3rd April 2011 at the Church Sanctuary at 10.00 am, to be followed by a fellowship lunch at the Hut Restaurant at Ground Floor.
